Something's wonky with osmond-riba.org.
Could y'all do me a quick favor, please?
Try to open my web page. Whether or not it works for you, check this site to confirm what your IP address is (the default in the text-entry field and listed in the Example beside the button), and post that info as a response. Your IP address, whether you could connect, any messages you get, and the time you made your attempt.
Thanks a ton. Anybody who's more techsavvy regarding DNS issues who'd like to take a stab at troubleshooting this, I'd be glad for any assistance.
Oh, and for those of you who can reach the site, my journal has numerous posts from yesterday that LJ hasn't yet picked up.

Couldn't connect; message "could not locate remote server"
Time Tuesday 12 August, 2:22 pm
Comment: I almost always have to try twice to reach your site; the first attempt gets an immediate (as in "before I can even move the mouse away from the link") message of "could not locate remote server", but the next attempt always connects (until today).

From WPI (130.215.x.x), I am unable to resolve www.osmond-riba.org.
It looks like there are no records available for the domain anywhere. Are your primary and secondary nameservers still working? Those would be, according to your domain info at whois.opensrs.net:
DYBBUK.JADETEK.COM
OTHERGUY.GTE.NET
Attempting to check those...
dybbuk.jadetek.com doesn't appear to exist at all. If this is your primary, that's the problem right there.
otherguy.gte.net is very very slow, and doesn't know osmond-riba.org. This, I'd guess, is because it's a slave secondary and can't get an update from dybbuk.jadetek.com. Once its cached copy of the zone file expired (probably after 24 or 48 hours), you ended up with no nameserver willing to serve as an authoritative server, and so the DNS records gradually expired everywhere else they were cached.
People who can still connect are probably using Windows machines, which very often do not adhere to the guidelines for expiration times for DNS entries and are still caching the address.

Oh, and your registration claims it was last updated on 12-Aug-2003, so if you guys are changing things trying to figure stuff out, or if your hosting provider has been messing with stuff, that may be part of the problem. The biggest issue is that your primary authoritative nameserver doesn't exist, anyway.

If you're willing to give me a log-on to the server, I'm willing to try to trouble-shoot the DNS, but it might be a problem with your provider.

Loads slow but okay. Had I been stuck at work tonight, I'd give you a report from there, but for once I'm actually at home.
email me if you think I can help with DNS issues. For that matter, Danziger has too much free time on his hands, so email him, too. :)
